Bournemouth University (commonly known as BU) is a highly regarded public university in the Dorset region of South West England, United Kingdom. Bournemouth Municipal College, which became Bournemouth College of Technology in the 1970s, was founded in the early 1900s. International students can now choose from 116 undergraduate programmes and up to 100 master's degrees. There are also 47 graduate research programmes, foundations degrees, Top-Up degrees, short courses, CPD programmes, and Post-registration health and social care professions programmes available at the institution. Top-up degrees allow students to advance from their current degrees, such as HNDs or Foundation programmes, to bachelor's degrees.

Campus

Bournemouth University has two campuses, Talbot and Lansdowne, both of which are in the city of Bournemouth. Remote learning sites include the Yeovil nursing campus, the Portsmouth campus, partner colleges (in Wiltshire, Dorset, and Somerset), and fieldwork regions. Bournemouth University is situated between one of the UK's newest national parks, officially the best beach in Britain, and the world's second-largest natural harbour, with the World Heritage Jurassic Coast nearby. BU has around 30 sports clubs, with 22 of them focusing on performance sports including volleyball, golf, and tennis. There are also 60 female and male sports teams available to all students at the college. The Sports Hall, Dance Studio 1, Reception, Astro Pitches, Rehabilitation Treatment Room, fitness studios, SportBU Gym area, and Strength and Conditioning Suite are among the university's sports facilities.

According to DHLE, 91 percent of BU alumni at the graduate level had a job or were continuing their education six months after graduation in 2017.
