Los Angeles State College was established in 1947 by an Act of the California Assembly as California State University, Los Angeles. The university, often known as Cal State LA, began operations on the L.A. City College campus. In September 1949, the college was renamed Los Angeles State College of Applied Arts and Sciences, and in January 1964, it was renamed California State College at Los Angeles. In 1972, the college was elevated to the level of university and given its current name. California State University Fullerton currently offers more than 100 degree programmes across its eight schools and colleges. The university provides 55 undergraduate and 55 graduate degree programmes, as well as doctorates in education and nursing practise.
