Fanshawe College, formerly known as Ontario Vocational College (OVC), is a public college in London, Ontario that was founded in 1962. The first classes were held on September 28, 1964. In 1967, the name Fanshawe was created by combining the words 'fane' (building or temple) and'shaw' (woods). Fanshawe also means "temple in the woods." Today, The Fanshawe College provides over 200 post-secondary certifications, diplomas, degrees, and graduate programmes in a variety of fields including as applied arts, business, health care, human services, and technology.

Campus

Fanshawe College is located in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. Fanshawe College operates four major campuses. The London campus encompasses 100 acres and houses 23 buildings. The Norton Wolf School of Aviation Technology and the School of Transportation Technology and Apprenticeship are both housed there. The London campus is one of the largest in Ontario and is sometimes referred to as a "city inside a city." There are three buildings on the London Downtown campus. Fanshawe College's newest campus is in London South. Certificate and diploma programmes, continuing education, academic upgrading, career and employment assistance, apprenticeships, and corporate training programmes are all available at the Elgin/St. Thomas Regional Campus. Full-time courses in Hair Stylist, Air Conditioning Technicians, Heating, and Police Foundations are available at the Woodstock/Oxford Regional campus.

Accredition

Co-operative Education Work Integrated Learning Canada has certified 14 programmes at Fanshawe College. The Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs has accredited the pharmacy programme (CCAPP).

Jobs and Placement

A placement agreement is presented and signed by the student at Fanshawe at the time of entrance acceptance. The agreement stipulates that the college reserves the right to place students in an agency or combination of agencies to provide students with the best possible chances to fulfil their learning objectives. Fanshawe College is breaking ground, with a 90.3 percent employment rate and students finding jobs within 6 months of graduation.
