Green River Community College began in 1945 as an adult evening education programme. It was part of the Auburn school district at the time. The school received authorised to become a community college in 1963. The college began professional and technical programmes in September 1964. The school was once located near the Auburn Boeing Plant. It was eventually transferred to Lea Hill. Green River Community College was renamed Green River College in 2014. Green River College now offers over a hundred degree and certificate programmes that can lead to a fulfilling profession.

This campus may be found at 417 Ramsay Way. Green River Community College's third location is known as the Kent Campus. The Enumclaw Campus is the fourth campus. It can be found at 1414 Griffin Avenue.
