Liverpool John Moores University, also known as LJMU, is an open research university. Its origins may be traced back to 1823, when the Liverpool Mechanics' School of Arts was established. Later, the school was renamed Liverpool Polytechnic. Liverpool John Moores University now provides over 210 undergraduate degrees and 120 graduate courses. Liverpool John Moores University has three main campuses, totaling 44 buildings.
