LSU has a main campus in Baton Rouge and eight satellite campuses, with the main campus covering up to 1,000 acres and the entire campus covering up to 2,000 acres. There are 16 academic buildings, 15 student housing structures, two sports facilities, 27 places of attraction, and nine student life buildings at the school. LSU has more than 450 student organisations. LSU has 21 varsity sports teams, with 9 men's and 12 women's teams. The teams are also NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) and Southeastern Conference members.
