Ryerson University
The Ryerson Institute of Technology was founded in 1948 in response to a need for qualified craftsmen in Ontario, Canada. In the first year, they had 250 students registered in photography, costume design, and architecture courses. This university now offers 62 undergraduate programmes and 49 specialised minor programmes. Arts, Communication and Design, Community Services, Engineering and Architectural Science, Science, and Business programmes are provided. The Ryerson ESL Foundation Program offers specialised programming for international students.

Cost of attendance

The cost of attending university varies depending on the degree and if you live on campus. Full-time undergraduate programmes for international students cost between $29,945 and $38,457 CAD.


The ILC is an 11-story former hotel was opened in 1987 and can house 256 residence students in extra-large rooms. Each floor of the ILC also has a shared kitchenette, a common lounge with cable TV, and laundry facilities. On the main floor, there is also a cafeteria and a lounge area. On-campus accommodation fees in Canada range from CAD 250 to CAD 625 per month (INR 14,538 to INR 36,345), while off-campus accommodation fees range from CAD 750 to CAD 2,200 per month (INR 43,614 - INR 1,27,937). Furthermore, monthly food expenses range from CAD 407 to CAD 816. (INR 23,668 - INR 47,453)

Acceptance rate

The university has around 45,000 students enrolled, with 7.2 percent being overseas students. The university has an admittance rate of 80%.


Ryerson University is located on the historic grounds of the Toronto Normal School, the first teacher's college. Ryerson is in the heart of Toronto. Toronto is one of the top seven cities in the world to live in. Students are given the opportunity to meet world leaders in government, business, culture, and healthcare right on campus. The Ted Rogers School of Management, the Faculty of Communication & Design, the Faculty of Community Services, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science, the Faculty of Science, The Chang School of Continuing Education, and the Digital Media Zone are also located on campus (DMZ).


Our school received AACSB accreditation in 2011. Only 7 percent of the world's 13,000 business programs have earned AACSB accreditation

Jobs and Placement

Co-op placements are becoming more common. Co-op placements allow full-time, non-practitioner students to earn academic credit for relevant work experience gained outside of the institution. Placements give networking and mentoring opportunities in addition to "hands on" experience. Our students have worked in a wide range of organisations in the government, non-profit, and commercial sectors. The annual wage for a Ryerson University Graduate Student is CA$27,206.
