Santa Ana Junior College opened its doors to 25 students in 1915 as a branch of Santa Ana High School. It was the second community college to be established in Orange County, following Fullerton College, and the fourth oldest in California. Today, the college offers a number of programmes that lead to the awarding of associate degrees in the arts and sciences, as well as vocational certificates.

It is situated on approximately 58 acres near the intersection of West 17th Street and Bristol in Santa Ana. Baseball, basketball, cross country, football, soccer, swimming, track and field, water polo, and wrestling are the nine men's sports programmes. Basketball, beach volleyball, cross country, soccer, softball, swimming, track and field, volleyball, and water polo are among the nine women's sports offered.
