Seattle University is a private college that was founded in 1891 and is known as the largest independent institution in the Northwest United States. The university was once known as Immaculate Conception Parish School. The institution established a night school for women in 1931. Within the facilities, a law school debuted in 1993. The institution opened a fitness centre, an art centre, and a library in 2009. Through its eight colleges and schools, Seattle University now offers more than 120 undergraduate, graduate, and credential programmes.
