Accommodation

Simon Fraser University offers students inexpensive living alternatives as well as other necessary facilities. The average cost of living on a university campus is approximately 11,000 CAD (6,51,000 INR). Everyone on campus is assigned a separate single room in which to live comfortably. Students have access to free and unlimited high-speed wifi on campus. Each resident hall is outfitted with all of the necessities for students, including a common area, a study area, a laundry room, and a washroom. It has a reasonable food plan, and the dining hall is immediately next to the residence. On-campus accommodation provides students and lifelong friends from all over the world with more security. The typical monthly rent for off-campus living is 700 to 900 CAD.

Acceptance rate

The total number of students enrolled at the university are 35700, out of which 4030 are international students. Simon Fraser University is very selective while accepting students for its admissions. The acceptance rate is 65% only.

Campus

Simon Fraser University has three distinct campuses located in Burnaby, Surrey, and Vancouver. For international students, the university provides reasonable accommodation choices. SFU provides public restrooms located across the campus. The campus contains basketball courts, an indoor climbing wall, an aquatic facility, a 25-meter-long swimming pool, and a diving pool. Elevators, garbage can lids, a public phone, a cooking area, and student public space are all available at Simon Fraser University. Modern lecture theatres and a well-equipped public lounge are among the other campus amenities.

Accredition

SFU has been granted formal accreditation, effective September 1, 2015 by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), an independent, non-profit agency.
