The University of Guelph, founded in 1964, is a mid-sized comprehensive university that offers a diverse range of academic options – more than 85 majors – affording students significant freedom. The Honours Degree+ Diploma programme at the University of Guelph takes a unique approach to post-secondary education. This programme allows students to acquire both a university honours degree and a diploma from the University of Guelph-Humber in Toronto in four years of full-time study. Within its seven colleges, the university provides more than 80 majors, 56 minors, and certificate programmes.

The campus has seven dining halls, thirteen coffee shops, and two bakeries.
