The University of New Mexico was founded in 1889 with the intention of becoming the state university of New Mexico. Accommodation

The institute has eight residence halls and 15 living communities. There are classic, suite, and apartment-style residence halls on campus, with seven on-campus and one off-campus. On-campus housing costs between $4,890 USD and $6,390 USD. There are limited special housing accommodations offered through its Accessibility Resource Center. In Corona Hall, there is a Gender Neutral and Allies Community for the LGBT community and its supporters. Off-campus accommodation is available for approved students who wish to reside outside of the institution yet within its vicinity. The houses cost between 6,000 and 24,000 USD each year.

Acceptance rate

The institution enrols almost 25,000 students, around 1,500 of whom are international students from all over the world, accounting for approximately 6% of the total student population. The university is a moderately selective institute in the country, with a 67 percent acceptance rate.

Campus

The institute has one main campus and four branch campuses located in Gallup, Los Alamos, Taos, and Valencia County. It has about 800 acres of property spread over its campuses. On campus, there are 267 academic, administrative, residential, and athletic buildings. It also offers 16 varsity sports, with teams known as the Lobos. The institute has 432 student organisations that are open to all students. Campuses are also well-known for their superb dining establishments.

Accredition

The University of New Mexico has been continuously accredited through the Higher Learning Commission of (HLC) since 1922. 

Jobs and Placement

Every year, over 200 businesses seek Anderson MBA graduates. The institute hosts career fairs many times a year to link employers with students, graduates, and members of the community. According to PayScale, the average yearly pay for UNM graduates is $67,000 USD. Boeing, Local Oye, Hewlett Packard, P&G, HP, Intel, IBM, Schlumberger, and Bank of America are among the companies recruiting at the university.
