University of Newcastle
The University of Newcastle began as a University of New South Wales college. It originally opened in late 1951 and began accepting students in 1952. UON offers undergraduate and graduate education in a variety of subjects through its three faculties: the College of Engineering, Sciences, and Environment, the College of Health, Medicine, and Wellbeing, and the College of Human and Social Futures.

The University of Newcastle's Business School (NBS) has received international acclaim for its programs through accreditation with the international accrediting body Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
