South Florida University On June 18, 1955, Florida Governor LeRoy Collins signed House Bill into law, establishing a new state university in Hillsborough County. The University of South Florida (USF) was founded in 1956 and became known by its current name on October 22, 1957, as the state's southernmost university at the time. USF has 200 academic programmes spread across its 14 colleges. Degrees include the BA, BS, MA, MS, and Ph.D. Certificate programmes are also available. Health Professions, Business and Marketing Programs, and Biomedical Sciences are some of the most popular majors at USF.

Campus

The University of South Florida campus has an official university bookstore, commuter parking and transit services, a post office, a print facility, childcare services, food facilities (in sidewalk cafes and dining halls), health services (including counselling services), and much more. For its Highest Research Activity rankings, the Tampa campus is recognised as a Doctoral University. The University of South Florida includes over 600 student organisations, including foreign societies, academic clubs, and honour societies. The Marshall Student Centre is the hub of the institute's student activities. Hundreds of activities are held on campus throughout the year.

The University of South Florida is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, master's, specialist and doctorate degrees.

The University of South Florida has a 90% employment rate and offers a variety of placement aid programmes and services. These services and programmes assist students in gaining practical work experience, training, and skill development. These are known as My Plan or My Pathway programmes. USF boasts a 90% employment rate and top MNCs such as Ernst & Young, PayPal, and Microsoft. The average salary offered to USF alumni after graduation is $66,000 USD (49 lakhs).
