University of South Wales
The University of South Wales, previously known as the University of Glamorgan, was founded in 2013. The Newport Institute, the forerunner of this public institution, was founded in 1841. The institute's goal was to educate tradespeople and labourers. The University of South Wales now offers 48 different topics of study to students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The University of South Wales is divided into four campuses. Pontypridd, Newport, Cardiff, and Dubai all have university campuses. The main campus, USW Pontypridd, contains both historic and modern structures. Students can join organisations based on their interests because USW has more than 50 student groups and clubs. USW includes more than 60 sports teams, including rugby, badminton, football, polo, and swimming. Because all of the University of Wales campuses are adjacent to the city, students may enjoy a busy nightlife with their friends.
