The University of Southern California, founded in 1880, is one of America's oldest private research universities, located in Los Angeles, California. The university is divided into two main campuses, both of which are located in the heart of Los Angeles. The USC Keck School of Medicine, the School of Pharmacy, and three major teaching hospitals are located on the Health Sciences Campus, which is located northeast of downtown Los Angeles. USC has programmes and centres in Marina Del Rey, Orange County, Sacramento, Washington, D.C., Catalina Island, Alhambra, and other areas throughout Southern California.


The University of Southern California has been fully and continuously accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) since March 6, 1949.
