St. Thomas University is a Roman Catholic, archdiocesan, liberal arts university. It was founded in 1885. The private university is considered Minnesota's largest private institution. The institution established a military curriculum on campus in 1903 and conferred its first degrees in 1915. Later, in 1922, the institution made military training available to students as an option. Today, the University of St. Thomas offers more than 150 programmes in a variety of majors and minors. It also provides approximately 50 graduate programmes through its eight academic colleges' staff.

Campus

St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Rome are the university's three campuses (Bernardi). The main campus of St. Thomas is located on Summit Avenue, the country's longest Victoria Avenue. The Anderson Students Center, the Anderson Athletic and Recreational Center, the O'Shaughnessy Library, and the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas are all located on the North Campus. Cafes, restaurants, chemist shops, department stores, and stationery are all nearby. The campuses are conveniently accessible by public transportation. Through campus activities, clubs, ensembles, volunteer organisations, and student government, over 140 student clubs and organisations assist students broaden their horizons. Students also participate in community service. On campus, the university hosts a variety of festivals, events, quizzes, and competitions.

The University of St. Thomas is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Jobs and Placement

Within a year following graduation, around 95 percent of students are hired at the institution. In addition, 90 percent of Minnesota's top public corporations actively recruit St. Thomas students. Through its Career Development Center, the university also provides students with on-campus research and internship possibilities.
