The Institution of the Fraser Valley, founded in 1974, is a government university that offers degree programmes in accounting, teaching, business technology, and aviation. The university provides two master's degrees, 19 undergraduate degrees, and over 110 online courses. On April 21, 2008, the university was granted official university status. As the university expanded, it founded the Centre for Social Research and the Global Development Institute in 2009.
