In 1965, four local institutions merged to become what is currently known as the Vancouver Community College. The Vancouver Vocational Institute, the Vancouver School Board's Night School Program, the Vancouver School of Art, and the King Edward Senior Matriculation and Continuing Education Center were the four institutions. It now provides 91 Certificates, 31 Diplomas, 2 Post Diplomas, 3 Bachelor Degrees, 14 Apprenticeships, 2 Advanced Certificates, and 3 Short Certificates.

Campus

Vancouver Community College has three campuses. Hamilton is home to the original campus (200 Block Dunsmuir). It is referred to as the Downtown campus. The Vancouver SkyTrain connects to this campus. VCC's second campus is located at 1155 East Broadway. It is well-known as the Broadway campus. This campus has a total cost of $55 million. The government of British Columbia contributed $44 million, with the remaining $11 million coming from community contributors and Vancouver Community College. The structure here is seven stories tall and covers an area of 12,400 square metres (133,000 square feet). It houses Vancouver Community College's Health Sciences Training programmes. The Broadway facility first opened in January 2009. The third campus was established in 2014.
