Western Washington University
Western Washington University (WWU) is a respected Washington state-funded university. WWU was founded in 1893 as a female-only institution. It has been known as New Whatcom Normal School since 1977 and Western Washington College of Education before that. Since 1947, WWU has conferred graduate degrees. Western Washington University now offers 175+ academic programmes at the undergraduate, graduate, and certificate levels. The institution is divided into six colleges: College of Business and Economics, Fine and Performing Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Engineering, Huxley College of the Environment, Woodring College of Education, Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies, and Graduate School.

Western Washington University also maintains an off-campus location in Anacortes, Washington, at Shannon Point Marine Center. It is a 15-acre student university campus near Lake Whatcom. Furthermore, students can participate in 250+ student clubs and organisations available on-campus.
