Aberystwyth University, founded in 1872 as the University College Wales, became a founding member of the University of Wales in 1894. The Gogerddan Campus serves the Institute of Biological, Environmental, and Rural Sciences' research needs. The Gogerddan Campus will also house the 40.5 million GPD Aberystwyth Innovation and Enterprise Campus.
