Claremont Graduate University, founded in 1925, is a well-known private research university in Claremont, California. The university, often known as CGU, is a self-governing institution that only offers graduate academic programmes. For 37 years, it was known as University College, but in 1962, it was renamed Claremont Graduate School and University Center.
