MacEwan University, founded in 1971 as Grant MacEwan Community College, is a higher education institution. The college was granted permission to offer university transfer programmes in 1988. Later that year, it became Alberta's sixth university and was renamed MacEwan University for all marketing and public relations purposes. Today, MacEwan University offers over 65 programmes ranging from undergraduate degrees to certifications, diplomas, and degree transfer programmes, all with the goal of combining good academics with excellent human experiences.

Accredition

In 2004, MacEwan became an accredited degree-granting institution offering its first baccalaureate degrees.
