MTU has over 220 student groups for students to join, participate in, and have a familiar culture at their campus. On campus, 600+ students participate in music and fine arts, and the Visual Arts Talent Award Scholarship is available to those who actively participate in arts during their college years. Students enjoy full access to Mont Ripley ski and snowboard slope, Portage Lake Golf Course, Gates Tennis Center, Department of Visual and Performing Arts events, hockey games, and intramural sports for a semester fee of 93 USD.
