Ontario Tech University, formerly known as the University Of Ontario Institute Of Technology (UOIT), is a government-run research and higher education institution in Oshawa, Ontario. It was founded in the year 2002. In March 2019, the institution received its current name. The university is also a member of the Council of Ontario Universities and the Ontario University Athletics Association. The university now provides academic and professional programmes in business, science, education, humanities, health sciences, information technology, and social sciences.
