The University of Sheffield was founded in 1897 and is comprised of the Sheffield Medical School, Firth College, and Sheffield Technical School. Cost of attendance

Accommodation

In university-owned, university-managed, or university-endorsed (but privately operated) residence halls and apartments, there are 6,200 rooms. The annual housing rate ranges from 4,651.81 GBP to 11,211 GBP and includes utility expenses (electricity, heating, gas, water), possessions insurance, Wi-Fi, and year-round access to campus events and sports activities. A village store, a bar, a free Residences Fitness Suite for all residents, and a café are among the on-campus amenities. En-suite, Deluxe, shared bathroom, Studio, and other room kinds are available. A bed, desk chair, wardrobe, curtains/blinds, shelves, pinboard, mirror, and other items can be found in each room. Rent for off-campus living ranges from £90 to £110 per week on average.

There are a total of 40158 students registered at the university. More than 29,000 international students from over 150 countries attend because of their global reputation for teaching and research. The university has an admittance rate of 85.0 percent.

Campus

Sheffield is a dynamic, friendly city that is also one of the cheapest in the UK, with living costs that are 10% less than the national average and 25% less than London. Students can participate in Sheffield volunteering, filmmaking, Engineers Without Borders, fashion, faith organisations, Sheffield Entrepreneurs, Natural History, Dance, DJing, Sports, and more through more than 350 Clubs and Societies. The library, which houses books, collections, new media, digital works, and research materials, is one of the facilities available on the University of Sheffield campus. The Diamond, which offers outstanding academic and research facilities, as well as study areas for undergraduate students; Innovative Information Commons, which offers 24-hour access to a multi-purpose learning environment; The Goodwin Sports Centre has a cutting-edge fitness facility, gym, heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam rooms, sports pitches, a multi-purpose sports hall, a bouldering wall, squash courts, and tennis courts.

Jobs and Placement

The Times and the Sunday Times are both published in the United Kingdom. The University of Sheffield was named the best university in northern England for creating employable graduates in the Good University Guide 2020. With approval from their particular department, students can complete one placement year (at least 38 weeks) as part of their degree programme. As a top-100 university in the globe, the institute offers a variety of scholarships. PhD is now the university's highest-paying degree, with an average yearly salary of 99,000 GBP (99.17 lakh INR). AstraZeneca, Deloitte, ESPN, the NHS, Unilever, Ernst & Young, Fujitsu, IBM, Rolls-Royce, and other companies have recently hired Sheffield grads. Sheffield also provides degree apprenticeships in partnership with big companies like Boeing, McLaren, and Rolls-Royce.
