University of North Texas
The University of North Texas (UNT) is a public research and higher education institution in Texas that was founded in 1890. UNT began as a private non-sectarian institution in a hardware store with 70 students. North Texas State University was established in 1961 after it was awarded university status. The university's current name was adopted in 1988. Today, the University of North Texas is one of the largest universities in the United States, with 109 bachelor's degrees, 94 master's degrees, and 36 doctoral degrees.
